What a ridiculous question.

On Monday night, Fox News host Tucker Carlson made an explosive claim on his show without presenting even an iota of evidence. Carlson alleged that he had learned through a whistleblower that the National Security Agency is spying on him and planning to leak his communications to take him off the air. Now, it’s possible that someone told Carlson that; and it’s also possible that the person could be crazy. Or, Carlson may be trying to get attention. He does that, you know.

Carlson is the co-founder of the Daily Caller, so they went with a hit piece on White House press secretary Jen Psaki after she was asked about Tucker’s wild-eyed claim by a reporter on Air Force One.

“Tucker Carlson said that the NSA is spying on him,” a reporter asked Psaki. “Is the administration aware of any espionage or listening efforts on US citizens by the NSA, and is Tucker Carlson one of them?”

Now, the Daily Caller claims that Psaki “refused” to answer the question, but here she is answering the question.

“Well, the NSA has, I think you are well aware, everyone’s aware, everyone on this plane is aware, I should say, is an entity that focuses on foreign threats and individuals who are attempting to do us harm on foreign soil,” Psaki replied. “So that is their purview, but beyond that, I would point you to the intelligence community.”

You can hear the exchange below:

Twitter users called the blog out:

OK, so “foreign threats and individuals that are attempting to do us harm of foreign soil” then. Yeah, I think that answered the reporter’s question, Daily Caller.
