Republican Rep. Jim Jordan took to Twitter to note the price of gas last June and compared it to now. Gas prices tanked last spring as COVID-19 wrecked economies and stopped people from traveling. This is elementary stuff, actually. In June of 2020, we lived through an apocalyptic nightmare, and the demand for fuel plunged as Americans isolated at home. It’s all about the global supply and demand this year, as opposed to last year.

Jordan tweeted that the average gas price in June of 2020 was $2.21, then noted that in June of 2021, it’s $3.07. Jordan attributed the rise in gas prices to “Biden’s economy!” But, White House press secretary Jen Psaki shut the Ohio Republican down with facts.

Twitter users piled in.

Republicans have nothing on President Joe Biden, so they’re just slinging mud in the hope that something sticks. The fact is that Trump left office with the worst jobs record since Herbert Hoover.
