MSNBC host Joe Scarborough took a time-out from his Memorial Day weekend on Sunday to address President Donald Trump’s Saturday golf outing and Twitter tantrum.

Even though nearly 100,000 Americans are dead because of the coronavirus pandemic, Trump played a round of golf despite having a $50,000 golf simulator in the White House and despite having criticized former President Barack Obama of golfing after just two Americans had died during the Ebola epidemic in 2014.

Again, nearly 100,000 Americans are dead and the death toll continues to rise. This is a national crisis and a tragedy, yet Trump is golfing.

He also saw fit to attack his critics and rivals in a tantrum thrown that night in which he retweeted a post calling former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton a “skank” and once again falsely accused Scarborough of murder.

A disgusted Scarborough responded to Trump on Sunday morning.

“The president criticized Barack Obama, of course, for golfing, has golfed so much more than Barack Obama this far in and did it again yesterday in the midst of this crisis,” he said. “Also insulted his last opponent, re-tweeting something that called her a, quote, a ‘skank’. The constant attacks for Nancy Pelosi, at Nancy Pelosi even though America, for the most part, has come together to bend the curve.”

“This president does not seem to be anything resembling a president that wants to bring the country together,” Scarborough continued. “More and more people are concerned that he’s unmoored. And more, I think, tragically, unmoved by the nearly 100,000 dead Americans.”

Here’s the video:

Analysis has shown that Trump rarely expresses any sympathy for the victims of coronavirus and their suffering families.

Trump is clearly pretending that all is well in the country even though the pandemic is still raging. Many states that have re-opened are seeing a second wave of the virus. Yet Trump is content to go golfing on the taxpayers’ dime at a time when he should be leading, leaving our country rudderless in one of our darkest hours.
