Disgraced former President Donald Trump unleashed a statement calling for Joe Biden to “resign in disgrace” for doing exactly what he planned to do by ending the senseless two-decade-long war in Afghanistan. Trump’s skills at projection are at an IMAX level. The twice-impeached one-term president then claimed that Biden surrendered to the coronavirus and the Taliban, even though Trump surrendered to COVID-19 without even putting up a fight — unless you call mocking social distancing guidelines and holding super-spreader events while dancing to YMCA while Americans are dying “fighting” against COVID.
There was no other predictable outcome in Afghanistan. The Taliban have taken control of Afghanistan’s capital city, Kabul, almost two decades after they were driven out by US troops, and that’s an outcome that even Trump once predicted. And the former president negotiated with the Taliban when he was in office.
While Trump is throwing a narcissistic hissy fit to attack his successor, an old clip is making the rounds on social media from a rally speech the former president made in late June. Trump says in the clip that he started the process of bringing the troops home and that Biden “couldn’t stop the process.”
“A government that wouldn’t last—the only way they last is if we’re there,” he continued. “What are we gonna stay, well stay for another 21 years? We’ll stay for another 50? The whole thing is ridiculous so we are bringing our troops back home.”
Watch:
“I started the process, all the troops are coming home, they (Biden) couldn’t stop the process. 21 years is enough. They (Biden) couldn’t stop the process, they (Biden) wanted to but couldn’t stop the process.”

so wait… is the former President saying he is working with the Taliban now?
— RyunosukeKusanagi (@SpaceRyunosuke) August 16, 2021
He released 5,000 Taliban prisoners including the guy who is likely the de facto leader of Afghanistan now.

Sounds like he knew the Afghan Gov would fold when the troops were pulled out

And then he praised Biden for going ahead with the removal but criticized him for not doing it by May 1 like he would have done.

Trump literally bragged about it, and the Taliban prisoners Trump released now control Afghanistan.
