Just When We Thought It Couldn’t Get Any Worse, TX AG Reportedly Sent His Employees Home To “Celebrate” Roe V. Wade News, Declares It A “Holiday” In The State Agency

I literally feel sick.

Women and childbearing humans in the United States were thrown back to the 1950s, kicking and screaming this morning, after the Supreme Court officially finalized what we all knew was coming and overturned the landmark 1973 Roe V. Wade Supreme Court decision, the federally legalized abortions in all 50 states across the nation.

Multiple Republican-led states already had “trigger” legislation in place, effectively outlawing abortions in their states as soon as the ink dried on the Supreme Court decision. Nearly half of the 50 US states will now soon see laws that either heavily strict or downright outlaw abortion procedures.

Women will soon be forced to die as incubators in the United States. To call it a sad day in this nation would be the biggest understatement since 1973. And then we have Ken Paxton…

The Right-wing Texas Attorney General is so thoroughly thrilled with the Roe news today, that he actually sent his employees home for a half-day to “celebrate” the catastrophic Roe news, dubbing today a “holiday” in the state agency.

In an email sent out to employees throughout the agency, Paxton said today will now be regarded as an annual holiday in the office, “to commemorate the sanctity of life.”

“Today we celebrate life and the protection of the unborn with the U.S. Supreme Court’s reversal of Roe v. Wade,” the office-wide email read before going on to note that the agency would be closed for the remainder of the day and employees should not plan to work past noon.

“Attorney General Paxton and the entire Executive Leadership Team wish you and your families a safe and enjoyable ‘Sanctity of Life’ holiday,” it reads.

Paxton also released a statement on the heels of the Supreme Court decision this morning, stating, “today the question of abortion returns to the states.”

“And in Texas, that question has already been answered: abortion is illegal here,” the AG’s statement reads. “I look forward to defending the pro-life laws of Texas and the lives of all unborn children moving forward.”

The state of Texas was one of a few Red states in the US that already had a “Trigger Law” in place to further restrict abortions into the ground that they pulled the proverbial trigger on as soon as the Supreme Court’s decision was finalized.
