Justice Department And FBI Veterans Are Said To Be “Deeply Alarmed” By William Barr’s Recent Comments About Trump: “Sounds Like Barr Wants To Be Vice President”

Barr's allegiance is clear, and it does not lie with the American people.

The Trump loyalty displayed by this nation’s highest law enforcement officer has been a cause for concern for some time now.

But on the heels of a recent interview in which Barr discussed his concerning relationship with the president of the United States, even Justice Department and FBI veterans have found their blood running cold at the AG’s undying devotion not to the Constitution or the people of America, but solely to Donald J. Trump.

In an interview with the archbishop of New York, Cardinal Timothy Dolan, on his Sirius XM radio show, Conversation with Cardinal Dolan, Barr divulged, “I see him on a regular basis, several times a week. He’s very easy to work with. He has a good sense of humor. He’s very direct. One of the things I like about him is what you see in public is very much what you see in private. He doesn’t have two different acts that he puts on.”

Barr went on to declare that Trump is “much more engaged than people give him credit for, and he’s a strong leader.”

“He is getting things done,” the US Attorney General added. “I just sometimes say if he wasn’t facing the resistance that he is and the dogged opposition that he faces, you just wonder how much more he could accomplish because he’s accomplished a lot in the face of great resistance.”

While it’s not necessarily unusual or even a bad thing for an AG to have a close, working relationship with the president of the country, many former intelligence and law enforcement officials found themselves blindsided and sickened by the extent to which AG Barr fawned over Trump.

Twelve-year Justice Department veteran and former federal prosecutor Jeffrey Cramer held nothing back when he spoke to Business Insider regarding Barr’s sycophantic comments on POTUS.

“Sounds like Barr wants to be vice president rather than head an office that historically has had independence even though it’s under the Executive Office,” Cramer stated.

Former federal prosecutor and insider on the Mueller team, Patrick Cotter, mirrored Cramer’s assessment of the AG, telling Insider that he was unable to remember another Attorney General “publicly discussing at such length his personal feelings about the executive.”

He explained that Barr’s blind loyalty to the president detracted from the Justice Department’s stance as an independent, non-partisan officeholder, calling Barr’s comments “tone deaf” and stating that it was “in very poor taste” for the nation’s highest officer to “so overtly exhibit his advocacy of the president’s political agenda.”

Recently retired FBI special agent Frank Montoya expressed his opinion of Barr as well, stating, “Wow. This stuff really does fly in the face of reality.”

Montoya touched on Barr’s claim during the interview that Trump listens to experts: “Then why did he say that he knew more about warfare than his generals? Why does he call himself a stable genius? Why did he tell Michael Bloomberg shortly after the election, after Bloomberg told him it was important to surround himself with smart people, that ‘no one was smarter’ than him? Why did he berate senior officials at the Pentagon when they told him things with which he didn’t agree?” — an assessment largely agreed upon by Cramer, adding that Barr’s claim seems to “contradict every other account the public has heard from others that presentations to Trump need to be light on facts, words, and time.”

“I think we will have to wait out AG Barr in order to feel confident that DOJ will revert back to being an independent agency seeking justice, regardless of the potential offender,” Cramer stated in conclusion, with Montoya adding, “Barr’s comments do nothing but reinforce an inexplicable devotion to a con man.”

We can only hope that one day our nation is restored back to some semblance of normalcy in the wake of what will go down in history as the most corrupt administration this nation has ever seen.

But it’s crystal clear that will never happen until the likes of Donald Trump and Bill Barr are no more.
