According to a bombshell new report from the Associated Press, the Justice Department, headed by Trump sympathizer William Barr, is now dropping the criminal case against the president’s former and first national security advisor, Michael Flynn.

Just last week, during a White House press briefing, Trump hinted at the possibility of a drastic change in his former employee’s case, declaring at the time, “He is in the process of being exonerated.”

Court documents being filed today and obtained by the Associated Press state that the United States Justice Department is dropping the case against the former national security advisor to Donald Trump — a case that’s certainly “served as a rallying cry” in Trump and his administration’s numerous and relentless attacks against the Federal Bureau of Investigation — “after a considered review of all the facts and circumstances of this case, including newly discovered and disclosed information.”

The Department of Justice claims that they have now determined that Flynn’s infamous FBI interview was “untethered to, and unjustified by, the FBI’s counterintelligence investigation into Mr. Flynn” and that the January 24, 2017 interview was “conducted without any legitimate investigative basis.”

The move was recommended to Attorney General Bill Barr last week by  Jeff Jensen, the attorney heading the Flynn case, and was formally submitted in a document this week.

“Through the course of my review of General Flynn’s case, I concluded the proper and just course was to dismiss the case,” the statement from Jensen reads. “I briefed Attorney General Barr on my findings, advised him on these conclusions, and he agreed.”

There is absolutely no doubt that Donald Trump will soon be celebrating this newest advancement in the Flynn case as it was unrightfully used by his and his base as proof of FBI corruption.
