Kamala Harris Was Heckled During Recent Speech, But Her Response Floored Us

That's how you do it.

When former President Donald Trump was in office, he couldn’t handle even the slightest bit of criticism, and for sure, he didn’t like hecklers or protesters, either. Well, Vice President Harris was interrupted in mid-sentence by a heckler while giving a speech on the bipartisan infrastructure deal and Biden’s Build Back Better agenda in New York on Friday, according to The Hill. Instead of unleashing petty insults like the former president, she listened and engaged with the protester, identified as 23-year-old Jose Vega.

Vega said that better infrastructure would have stopped people drowning in their basements in Queens during Hurricane Ida earlier this year, and Vice President Harris said, “You are right, brother” and added, “You and I will talk after I give my comments, and I am happy to talk with you.”

Vega responded, “Why aren’t we [U.S.] working with the Chinese on their Belt-and-Road initiative?”

Harris said, “But right now, let’s talk about the agenda that will include speaking to all people and allowing everybody to be heard because that’s part of what we want in our democracy. Everybody gets their chance to talk, and everybody gets a chance to be heard.”

“Families drowned in Queens; it could have been prevented if we had the right infrastructure,” he added.

Vega was still yelling when security escorted him out, presumably to wait for Harris to finish her speech.

Watch:

Vega, a Bronx resident, spoke with the Daily Mail, saying, “People aren’t drowning because of global warming in Queens. They are drowning because of illegal apartments in Queens.”

Vega reportedly works for the Diane Sare for Senate campaign. The problem here is that President Joe Biden has been trying to pass an infrastructure deal, so Mr. Vega is protesting the wrong people. Like, maybe visit Sens. Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema, for example. As for China, it’s a competing country, so they likely wouldn’t share their initiatives with us. At any rate, Harris handled that well.

Was the crisis in Afghanistan surrounding the pull out of American Troops Biden's fault or Trump's fault?
