Even after several days of negative media coverage and hurting the Republican Party’s chances for midterm elections even further, Donald Trump Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh isn’t done disgusting the country. Today, Kavanaugh published a pathetically defensive editorial in the Wall Street Journal, and it’s sure to make the majority of women want to throw up in their mouths.
In his editorial, Kavanaugh apologized to America — not for having sexually assaulted or wronged many women in his life — but for being too “emotional” at the hearing. Kavanaugh continues to maintain that he did not assault Dr. Christine Blasey Ford (or anyone else) and is only sorry that he made himself look like a dumb*ss. He wrote:
I was subjected to wrongful and sometimes vicious allegations. My time in high school and college, more than 30 years ago, has been ridiculously distorted. My wife and daughters have faced vile and violent threats.”
Kavanaugh made a sad attempt to defend his angry, rage-filled performance when he was questioned about the allegations:
I was very emotional last Thursday, more so than I have ever been. I might have been too emotional at times. I know that my tone was sharp, and I said a few things I should not have said. I hope everyone can understand that I was there as a son, husband and dad. I testified with five people foremost in my mind: my mom, my dad, my wife, and most of all my daughters.”

Once again the suffering of women is being overshadowed by a man whining about being held accountable. The thing that is probably the most disgusting about all this was that Kavanaugh, a white male in America, still thinks he’s going to come out clean and unscathed — and likely get his confirmation. The sad thing is, he might actually be right. After all, we have a serial rapist in the White House. Kavanaugh said:
Going forward, you can count on me to be the same kind of judge and person I have been for my entire 28-year legal career: hardworking, even-keeled, open-minded, independent and dedicated to the Constitution and the public good. I revere the Constitution. I believe that an independent and impartial judiciary is essential to our constitutional republic.”
Do you know who also says he loved the Constitution? Trump. And yet he has violated it more times than we can count. Considering how much these two have in common, it’s clear why the president picked Kavanaugh to be his Supreme Court nominee.
