Earlier this week Donald Trump admitted to the world that he’s been taking the controversial, unproven malaria drug, hydroxychloroquine, as part of a preventative treatment measure against COVID-19, at the approval of the White House doctor.
Given that the Food and Drug Administration has released a warning indicating the potential complications of the unproven drug in coronavirus patients, including extremely dangerous effects on the heart, Trump’s announcement naturally caused a big stir among healthcare and government officials — not only for the potential risk it poses to the president in the midst of a literal pandemic but also regarding the example Donald is setting for the rest of America by indulging in an unproven drug.
In fact, Trump’s admission to taking hydroxychloroquine is what ignited his most recent feud with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
As a result of the backlash he’s received over the drug, Donald’s newest press secretary, Kayleigh McEnany, went on the defense of Trump’s off-label use of the malaria medication during a segment on CBN today.

However, during her explanation, it seems that the most recent Sarah Sanders replacement may have accidentally said the quiet part out loud.
Speaking with CBN’s David Brody McEnany said, “The doctor did prescribe it for him. And he took it after having several discussions with Dr. Conley about its efficacy and he believed — Dr. Conley — that the benefits outweighed the risks for the president.”
Kayleigh attempted to note that hydroxychloroquine has been used for several years for many different ailments other than coronavirus.
“It was issued an emergency use authorization to use this as essentially like a right to try,” the press secretary continued. “So, if you’re someone who has this, who is looking for a therapeutic, who has COVID and is looking for a therapeutic, hydroxychloroquine is something some doctors professed optimism about.”
“You do have a right to try it,” she went on. “It gives people a right to try in the waning days of their life when they are facing a fatal illness.”
I don’t know about you, but it seems to me that in the process of attempting to defend Trump’s decision to take the unproven, controversial drug off-label, McEnany may have just admitted that the president’s health isn’t in the shiny, fantastic state that he’s attempting to make us all believe.
By saying that people have a right to try to medication in their “waning days” while simultaneously defending Donald Trump’s decision to try the medication makes it sound to me as though Trump’s days, healthwise, may be numbered.
It’s high time he finishes up that “physical,” folks.
