Outgoing White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany objected on Fox & Friends to how Playboy reporter Brian Karem presented questions during briefings. McEnany was upset over how Karem spoke to a “female woman,” calling him a misogynist. It is, however, McEnany’s job to answer questions from reporters. The Trump administration has demonized the press for years, so this is nothing new.
“If you’re a female woman in the Republican Party who takes that podium, guess what your worry is?” McEnany asked. “Having a Playboy reporter shout questions at you, demeaning misogynistic questions, during a briefing. It’s a double standard. It’s one that’s ridiculous and one that the White House Correspondents’ Association should look into when you have Playboy reporters shouting at women in a misogynistic manner simply because they’re a member of the GOP.”

Karem fired back on Twitter, and he didn’t hold back.
Lame. @realDonaldTrump failed 3 times in court to ban me. Speaking truth to power is not misogyny. You work for a misogynist. Your briefings are propaganda. You failed the American people who pay your salary. You’re sore because you can’t answer questions honestly. https://t.co/n0vHZJipiV

And the WHCA is not a legislative body to police reporters. A professional in your position should know how the system works. @PressSec

You should be more worried about The Hatch Act and being investigated for sedition.

As with everything from this administration, McEnany is projecting. Donald Trump’s misogynistic traits go back years, from demeaning women for their appearance to his infamous Access Hollywood remarks. McEnany shouldn’t have taken the job if she can’t handle it.
On Sunday night, President-elect Joe Biden announced that Jennifer Psaki would be serving as press secretary for the incoming administration. Kamala Harris and Biden selected an all-female communications team, the first time in history that the senior communications roles in the White House will be filled entirely by women. Or as paid liar Kayleigh McEnany would call them, “female women.”
