Kayleigh McEnany Once Praised Joe Biden As A “Man Of The People” And Thought Republicans Would “Run Into A Problem If It Is Joe Biden And Maybe A Trump On The Other Side”

Oof. Donnie won't like this one bit.

Over the course of the past year or so, current Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany has successfully turned herself into the Trump sycophant Supreme, as she takes to the briefing room almost daily, tasked with peddling a variety of the President’s ridiculous and often dangerous lies — something she seems all to proud to do.

However, we’ve known for some time now that McEnany wasn’t always such a big fan of number 45. In fact, several years ago, just ahead of the 2016 election, she participated in a segment on CNN, in which she trashed Donald Trump’s past remarks on Mexican immigrants as “racist.” Ultimately, Sarah Sanders’ most recent replacement was questioned about her past comments during a press briefing and blamed her “naivety” on watching too much liberal media, namely CNN.

But as it turns out, according to a report from CNN ironically enough, those 2015 comments aren’t the only thing she’s had to say that will likely ruffle her boss’ feathers behind closed doors.

CNN reports that before Kayleigh succumbed to the dark side, she once praised Democratic nominee and former Vice President Joe Biden as “funny and likable” and a “man of the people” who truly resonates with “middle-class voters.”

McEnany has served as one of the Trump administration’s most outspoken critics of Donald’s opposition, often calling him “a radical socialist” and harping on Trump’s “sleepy” nickname. But an August 2015 interview with the now press secretary paints a much different picture — when McEnany stated that Republicans would likely face some pretty big issues should they see a race between Donald Trump and Joe Biden, who was considering a presidential run at the time.

“I think the Republicans run into a problem if it is Joe Biden and if it is maybe a Trump on the other side,” the now press secretary said on local New York’s AM970, that was later analyzed by CNN’s KFile. “Because Joe Biden, one of the things he is remarkable at is really kind of being a man of the people and resonating with middle-class voters. Feeling like — coming off as human. His gaffes — as much as we make fun of them — to a certain extent they make him look human. So not, since he’s likable.”

Kayleigh was asked whether she thought it would be easier for Trump to beat Hillary Clinton or Joe Biden, to which she answered, “I think at the end of the day, probably Joe, although if Trump is against Joe, I think the juxtaposition of kind of the man of the people and kind of this tycoon, is a problem. Although Donald Trump’s remarkably coming off as a man of the people despite being this wealthy business tycoon.”

Earlier that same week, during an appearance on Fox Business Network, Kayleigh made similar comments when she predicted that Biden would be the 2016 nominee.

“When you have Joe Biden here who’s funny and likeable and can resonate with the middle class, he really can speak to the average, everyday American, versus Hillary Clinton who’s cold and somber,” she stated. “Remember when she had to — that calculated move of drinking a drink at a bar to seem like a human being. Joe Biden is a human and people will resonate with that. I predict he will be the nominee.”

Ultimately, Biden decided against a presidential run in 2016 and Hillary Clinton become the Democratic nominee, winning the popular vote by a landslide but losing the Electoral College vote to Donald Trump.

In a statement to CNN, McEnany responded to her past comments about Biden, claiming that she has since learned of what she called the Democratic nominee’s “profound personal corruption” and went on to say that the former VP has turned into “an empty vessel for the liberal elites and far left,” doubling-down on similar attacks made by the president.

Something tells me, though, that Kayleigh’s current petulant boss isn’t particularly going to care that she changed her mind.
