New Yorker report recently made waves after legal experts reportedly took notice of one particular hidden detail in the indictment of Allen Weisselberg — the longtime Chief Financial Officer of the Trump Organization — that they claim could be very bad news for disgraced ex-President Donald Trump.

As we’re all well aware, both Weisselberg and the Trump Organization were slapped with charges from prosecutors with the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office back in July in connection to an alleged tax fraud scheme spanning 15 years. Both are accused of heavily compensating certain employees of the organization under the table and off the books in an effort to avoid tax fees associated with the payments/perks.

Throughout this whole scandal, the defense for Trump himself has simply boiled down to — he didn’t know about it; an excuse that many, including Trump’s former personal attorney and “fixer,” Michael Cohen, just aren’t buying based on their experience with Donald’s neurotic and controlling personality.

Among the documents containing the allegations against the recently indicted entity and its CFO, is one claiming that Allen erased certain portions of entries in a ledger titled, “Donald J. Trump’s Detail General Ledger,” hailing from Trump’s 2016 campaign days.

The New Yorker notes that legal experts familiar with Donald’s numerous legal woes were quick to notice one thing — the name that the ledger allegedly bore.

One former New York assistant attorney general who worked on the Trump University case, Tristan Snell, spoke with the New Yorker and said, “My jaw literally dropped when I saw that. If there was a ledger for him, it blows up the notion that Trump didn’t know about it—it means there was a set of numbers prepared for Donald Trump.”

Snell went on to tell the publication that he believes prosecutors were sending the ex-president a clear message when going public with the existence of this ledger: “We have your ledger.”

Weisselberg has worked for the Trump family since the 1970s and while he was removed from his position of power at numerous Trump Organization subsidiary companies following his arrest, he reportedly still holds his CFO title. Both he and the Organization have pleaded not guilty to the charges lodged against them as Trump publicly labels the investigation a “witch hunt,” per the usual.

Earlier this week, New York Attorney General Letitia James indicated that additional charges will likely be coming down the pike soon in connection to her years-long investigation in the ex-president and his numerous businesses.
