Life Just Keeps Getting Worse For Trump, Likely To Lose His NYC Golf Course As Jan. 6th Riot “Continues To Haunt Him,” According To Report

The man is going to lose everything.

Even with all his efforts to keep documents surrounding the infamous riot hidden from the House select committee and the public eye, Donald Trump just cannot seem to get away from the repercussion of the January 6th Capitol insurrection, enacted on his behalf by his rabid supporters when he couldn’t simply accept the fact that he lost the election.

In the weeks and months since that fateful January day, droves of his allies and supporters have turned their backs on him, he’s lost in court more times than he can keep up with, and now it seems that one of his golf courses may be next on the list.

Just days after the infamous attack on the nation’s Capitol building and those inside it, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio announced that the city would be terminating the licensing deal between the Trump Organization and the city for Trump Golf Links at Ferry Point Park in the Bronx.

“The City of New York will not be associated with those unforgivable acts in any shape, way, or form,” Mayor de Blasio said at the time.

As you’d expect, the ex-president’s organization (that’s in a load of trouble all its own) was quick to sue in an effort to have the license, which is set to expire on Sunday as it stands, reinstated. Trump claims in the suit that the termination of the license stems instead from de Blasio’s personal animosity against the ex-president, rather than the events that took place at the Capitol.

A judge has agreed to delay the termination of the golf course’s license, but according to a new report from CNN, it’s likely that it won’t do anything thing to actually save the business. According to the report, the Trump Golf Links looks to be “another likely casualty to stem from former President Donald Trump’s actions on January 6 before rioters stormed the US Capitol.”

“The case highlights how Trump’s activities during the final days of his presidency continue to haunt him as he navigates numerous criminal investigations and business challenges linked to the Capitol riot,” the report goes on to read. “The fight over the golf course is one of the latest examples of Trump’s political rhetoric clashing with his business interests.”

The Trump-branded golf course (that reportedly features a presidential seal imprinted on the grass) isn’t the only New York casualty the ex-president has seen since his involvement in the riot. The city of New York also terminated the Trump Organization’s management of the Central Park Carousel and two ice skating rinks.

The city cited the PGA of America’s similar decision on the heels of the Capitol riot as their defense for their decision to terminate the golf course license. The PGA canceled their agreement to host its 2022 championship tournament at Trump’s Bedminster resort in the wake of the riot, stating that the agreement would now be “detrimental” to its brand.
