South Carolina Republican Lindsey Graham went full Trumpian to defend his “president” Wednesday morning during a hearing of the Senate Judiciary Committee. During Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s testimony, Graham went as far as to compare Donald Trump to Marin Luther King, because why not — this is the world we now live in.
“You were able to uncover abuse of power I never believed would actually exist in 2019. How bad is it? It was as if J. Edgar Hoover came back to life,” he continued. “The old FBI, the FBI that had a chip on its shoulder and wanted to intimidate people and find out what was going on in your life and the law be damned. Martin Luther King, and just fill in the names.”

Without one bit of irony, Grahm seemed to suggest that FBI agents who hold a negative view on Trump can’t be trusted, even though the South Carolina Republican repeatedly blasted the former reality show star — until he was sworn in.

Lindsey Graham is amazed that Peter Strzok felt the same way about the president* that Graham did when he had a soul.

It was revealed that pro-Trump messages were exchanged by FBI agents, too. Despite those and Lisa Page, the former FBI lawyer, and agent Peter Strzok’s exchanges, no political bias was found.
Also, Carter Page’s FISA warrant cannot even be compared to what Dr. King and others endured in the 1950s and early 70s. It’s interesting that Republicans are using Trump’s behavior to allege that he’s the victim in all of this while their “president” continues to meet with Russian officials without allowing the press in the room.
FBI director J. Edgar Hoover was personally hostile toward King and believed that the civil rights leader was influenced by Communists, something which was never proven. After April 1964, when King called the FBI “completely ineffectual in resolving the continued mayhem and brutality inflicted upon the Negro in the deep South,” the animosity increased.
In contrast, Trump’s Tiki Torch-carrying “good guys on both sides” stormed the streets of Charlottesville while shouting Nazi-era slogans in the “president’s” name. That was before, of course, one of Trump’s fans murdered an anti-racist protester.
Just like MLK, right, Lindsey?
Trump is not a victim. He did this to himself by putting himself first ahead of this country.
