Lindsey Graham Could Lose His Senate Seat After Democratic Challenger Has Nearly Tied Him In Poll

Republican South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham seems to think his job is to defend Donald Trump amid the president’s scandals, but his constituents aren’t all-in for his reelection. Graham certainly has changed since Trump’s election. In 2016, he tweeted, “If we nominate Trump, we will get destroyed…….and we will deserve it,” but now, he’s even betrayed his friend John McCain by not calling out Trump after he’s attacked the late Senator.

Graham’s career in politics looks shaky as he’s found himself statistically tied with Democratic challenger Jaime Harrison, and the South Carolina Republican’s favorability rating is plummeting with independent voters.

Graham has only a 2-percentage point lead over Harrison, 47 to 45 percent, in the red state. Ten percent of voters surveyed remain undecided. The Change Research/Post and Courier newspaper poll noted that Graham “looks extremely vulnerable against Democratic contender Jaime Harrison.”

Graham did not do well in his favorability, with 38 percent of respondents viewing him very or somewhat favorably, and 53 percent of respondents viewing him very or somewhat unfavorably.

Graham’s unfavorable polls show the South Carolina Republican to be in troubled waters.

The poll had a margin of error of 3.1 percentage points so it could even be worse for Graham — or better, but Harrison is pulling in a bigly haul of donations. Graham’s Democratic challenger is “armed with a record haul of campaign dollars,” according to the Washington Post.

Graham continues to defend Donald Trump’s actions and inaction during the pandemic that the president failed to act upon months ago when he first learned of the coronavirus threat to this country.

For example, Graham doesn’t seem to know that February has more than six days in the month and that a president should be able to do more than one thing at a time.
