Lindsey Graham May Have Violated The 14th Amendment During Fox News Interview

Seems he's picking up on his boss' tactics.

Ever since Donald Trump took office on that fateful day three-plus years ago, his sycophantic pal, South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham, has been tough to figure out.

Now don’t get me wrong, Graham has always been trash. Even before Donald Trump took over and started hammering this nation into the ground, the South Carolina Senator was a racist, bigoted, homophobic, sexist, piece of garbage.

However, up until Trump’s inauguration, he was never a fan of the man that currently has the keys to the White House.

In fact, he was extremely vocal in his disdain for the washed-up reality tv “star.” That is, until he made it into office.

Ever since then, it’s been a downhill spiral for Lindsey Graham, who we honestly thought was already pretty much at the bottom of the barrel.

But if there’s one thing we’ve learned when it comes to Donald Trump and his cronies, it’s that they can always get worse.

That’s exactly what Graham has done.

During a recent interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity, the Senator seemed to channel his inner Donald Trump and appeared to have violated the United States Constitution — something his sworn enemy turned dear leader does on the regular.

“I want to get the medical supply chain back in the United States, and I want to start canceling some debt that we owe to China, because they should be paying us, not us paying China,” Graham stated in the segment. “So I think you’re going to see a bipartisan pushback against China to punish them so severely to deter them in the future.”

Now, I don’t have the word count to go in a deep dive on their legality and overall fuckery involved in attempting to hold a country accountable for the spread of a disease — but to that, I will say, the Native Americans didn’t pull smallpox out of thin air, you feel me?

But that being beside the point for now, the 14th amendment of the Constitution seems to present a big issue with what Graham had to say.

“The validity of the public debt of the United States, authorized by law, including debts incurred for payment of pensions and bounties for services in suppressing insurrection or rebellion, shall not be questioned,” the 14th amendment, one of the three “Reconstruction Amendments” added in the aftermath of the Civil War, reads.

It was implemented to prevent southern politicians of the time from canceling the U.S. war debt to prevent them from doing any favors to the white landowners who led the war.

Now, logic would say that the amendment, at the very least, would apply to Graham’s statement in the sense that it would go against the Constitution to “cancel” any treasury bonds currently held by the government or business in China. But the issue may not even stop there.

Some interpretations of the amendment are of the belief that “shall not be questioned” should be taken at face value, meaning that public officials are forbidden by the Constitution from making any declarations that would cause creditors to “question” the authenticity of the public debt.

Should we follow the latter logic, that would mean “Lapdog” Lindsey was in blatant violation of the United States Constitution simply by saying what he did — regardless of whether or not he takes any action.
