Wyoming’s Republican House Representative Liz Cheney is publicly speaking out on the heels of yet another heinous shooting in the US, and saying what her own party refuses to admit — the GOP is blatantly and continually enabling and even praising vile, noxious, violent, and deadly racism in this country, and has publicly demanded that members of the House Republican leadership team she once personally served on denounce and reject members of their party who are openly sympathizing with and finding common cause with racist people, rhetoric, and ideologies, following the deadly Buffalo, New York massacre.
Cheney, who once served as chair of the House GOP Conference until she was exiled by her own party last year, took to her personal Twitter account this morning with a point-blank message to the Republican leaders who she rightfully said have “enabled white nationalism, white supremacy, and antisemitism.”
“History has taught us that what begins with words ends in far worse,” Cheney fumed. “GOP leaders must renounce and reject these views and those who hold them.”

Cheney’s public criticism of her fellow party members and GOP leaders comes almost a year, to the date, after she was exiled from the party clique and ousted from her position in leadership after she outright refused to keep quiet and not openly criticize Donald Trump over his large role in the heinous violence that took place at the Capitol building on January 6th. Her tweet condemning her party’s leadership and the GOP’s enabling of racism and violence as a whole came less than 48 hours after a gunman opened fire in a Buffalo, New York supermarket, within a predominantly Black area, claiming 10 lives.
A “manifesto” that has been published online and linked to the alleged shooter was chock full of multiple racist ideologies, most specifically the “white replacement theory” that has been heavily peddled by the likes of Fox’s Tucker Carlson and other notable GOP lawmakers, and touts the unhinged claim that Democrats in the country are attempting overthrow white voters in the US with Hispanic immigrants and other people of color in an effort to give minorities an electoral advantage.
