Major Republican Made A Statement Admitting That Biden Won The Election Fair And Square

Trump isn't going to like this.

Bob Dole, a one-time Senate Majority Leader, endorsed Donald Trump in 2016. He was the only former presidential nominee to attend the GOP convention that nominated the former reality show star. Dole identifies as a “Trumper” but admitted that he’s all “Trumped out.” And while the twice-impeached one-term president has been incapable of admitting that he was defeated by Joe Biden in the popular and electoral vote over eight months ago, Dole, 98, had no problem saying that President Biden was legitimately elected. It shouldn’t be that hard, but GOP denialism is poisoning democracy.

Dole, who is celebrating his birthday today, said there’s no question that Trump lost his reelection race in 2020 – narrowly perhaps but fair and square, according to USA Today.

“He lost the election, and I regret that he did, but they did,” Dole said, according to the outlet. “He had Rudy Giuliani running all over the country, claiming fraud. He never had one bit of fraud in all those lawsuits he filed and statements he made.”

“I’m a Trumper,” Dole said but added, “I’m sort of Trumped out, though.”

Dole praised President Biden as a “decent person,” but of course, their politics are vastly different.

“A great, kind, upstanding, decent person,” Dole said of Biden. However, he took issue with the Keystone Pipeline, saying, “I asked him, I said, ‘Why did you close that pipeline in (South) Dakota?’”

Dole and Biden have something in common: both politicians were capable of reaching across the aisle when they served in the Senate. That’s something that Trump lacks.

After numerous lawsuits to overturn the election were rejected, even by Trump-appointed judges, the former president continues to spread his Big Lie of widespread voter fraud that doesn’t exist. That, of course, led to the deadly Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol. In response to Trump’s loss, Republicans are trying vigorously to pass laws restricting the right to vote. There are still a few Trump loyalists that refuse to admit that Biden won the election, and they may never change. Certainly, Trump won’t — even if it destroys this country.
