Controversial Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene threatened telecommunications companies over the Jan. 6 Committee’s request for telecom companies, asking them to retain phone records involving the Trump White House on January 6th. In total, the committee issued orders to 35 social media and communications companies to preserve records. The House Select Committee investigating the deadly Jan. 6 insurrection has also requested that a group of telecommunications companies preserve the phone records of a group of Republican members of Congress and former President Donald Trump, as well as members of the Trump family, who played some role in the “Stop the Steal” rally that whipped a mob of Trump supporters into a frenzy, leading to the Capitol riot, according to CNN, and Greene is on that list.
Greene told Tucker Carlson on his Fox News show on Tuesday that any telecommunications company that complies with a request to hand over Republicans’ messages to the January 6 commission would be “shut down.”
“If these telecommunications companies go along with this, they will be shut down,” Greene said. “And that’s a promise.”
Carlson said, “Good, I hope they’re afraid of you. They should be.”

“These telecommunications companies, they better not play with these Democrats because Republicans are coming back into the majority in 2022, and we will take this very serious,” the Jewish Space Lasers conspiracy theorist added.

I’ll just leave this here:
I’m just going to say, as someone involved in the criminal justice system for 27 years as a prosecutor, defense attorney, and police academy director, that this is not how people react when they have nothing to hide. pic.twitter.com/YiGPjefehU

She certainly sounds like she has something to hide. Perhaps she should read up on the Patriot Act because what is happening here is very legal, thanks to Republicans. House minority leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) issued an almost identical threat on Tuesday, saying that a “Republican majority will not forget” if they comply with the Jan. 6 committee’s request for records. For a bunch of allegedly innocent folks, they sure do sound guilty. If she doesn’t want to be exposed as being a shitty person, I suggest that she stop being a shitty person.
