Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, with fellow controversial Republicans Matt Gaetz of Florida, Louie Gohmert of Texas, and Paul Gosar of Arizona, held a press conference on Tuesday. The Georgia lawmaker called out the outrageous” treatment of Capitol riot defendants in Washington, DC’s central jail. Greene bizarrely claimed that inmates are being physically abused, forced to read works of critical race theory, mocked “for the color of their skin,” and told they are in a “cult.”
At one point, a reporter said, “I don’t remember you holding a press conference for the unusually cruel treatment of Capitol Police officers.”
