Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, with fellow controversial Republicans Matt Gaetz of Florida, Louie Gohmert of Texas, and Paul Gosar of Arizona, held a press conference on Tuesday. The Georgia lawmaker called out the outrageous” treatment of Capitol riot defendants in Washington, DC’s central jail. Greene bizarrely claimed that inmates are being physically abused, forced to read works of critical race theory, mocked “for the color of their skin,” and told they are in a “cult.”

At one point, a reporter said, “I don’t remember you holding a press conference for the unusually cruel treatment of Capitol Police officers.”

Watch:

Marje was among a dozen Republicans who voted against awarding the Congressional Gold Medal to U.S. Capitol Police and other officers who protected the Capitol during the January 6 attack.

A reporter asked Gaetz, “Do you want ex-President Trump to be speaker?” and the Florida Republican said, “I would.” When asked if he has spoken to Trump about that, Gaetz just said, “I have.”

Watch:

Greene once again claimed that the January 6th defendants are being treated worse than prisoners at Guantanamo.

Watch:

Greene claimed that the alleged rioters are forced to undergo “critical race theory training.”

Watch:

Greene also claimed that the January 6 defendants are told that “they have to denounce President Trump. They are told that their views are the views of cult members.”

Watch:

None of her claims are true. None of them.
