Marjorie Tyler Greene Claims There Is Now A Tampon Shortage In This Country Because “They Put Tampons In Men’s Bathrooms”

You can't make this stuff up.

Look, I am certainly no stranger to covering the variety of batshit crazy nonsense that people on the Right allow to spew out of their mouths on the regular. Over the course of my career reporting on politics, I’ve personally reported on so many faux pas, Freudian slips, misspeaks, and slip-ups from various “activists,” lawmakers, talking heads, and even presidents that it’s impossible to even count them all at this point.

So, suffice it to say, it’s pretty hard for someone to come up with something that really takes me by surprise these days. I get disgusted, sure. I most definitely get appalled. Lots and lots of sickened emotions from it all. And even the occasional warm, fuzzy feelings of gratitude and hope (though, those are few and far between when it comes to largely covering the Right.) But it takes a hell of a lot these days to force me to stop and say, “I’m sorry… Huh?!”

But this did it, folks. This did it well.

Georgia’s highly-controversial Republican House Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene made an appearance on the Right Side Broadcasting Network today, where she tackled the topic of the growing tampon shortage in the US.

Now, the tampon aisle of your local supermarket is just one of many that are looking quite bare these days, as the United States struggles through a clearly broken domestic supply chain. Of course, every Tom, Dick, and Harry across the world wide web has their opinions as to why supermarket shelves are getting more and more empty with each passing day, but the truth of the matter is that a variety of issues — including worker shortages, infrastructure, inflation, corporate subsidiaries, competition, and even raging class and cultural wars — remain at the root of the ever-growing crisis.

But then you have people like Marjorie Taylor Greene (who might I remind you is still a sitting member of Congress as we speak and plays a hand in making literal laws in this country) who say phooey on all that economical hoopla — the nation’s tampon troubles simply comes down to transgender Americans and menstruation products being put into men’s public bathroom.

wish I were joking.

During her RSBN appearance, Greene claimed, “Men have taken over everything. They’re ‘Women of the Year’ in every category.”

She then went on to bring up the “Breaking News” of the tampon shortage, before claiming, “That’s probably because men are buying tampons.”

“They put tampons in the men’s bathrooms,” Greene claimed. We’re not entirely sure who “they” is in this scenario, but we’re guessing it’s probably the Biden Administration that she’s referencing here.

Again, I really wish this was a joke.

But, see for yourself if you dare:
