Mary Trump Mocks Don Jr. For Texting Meadows Instead Of His Dad During Jan. 6th Riot: “It’s Simply Cowardice”

During the January 6th Committee’s hearing on Monday, Rep. Liz Cheney read some texts from Fox News pundits and Donald Trump’s eldest son, all of them sounding desperate for the former President to do something to stop the riot at the Capitol. Mary Trump weighed in on her cousin Donald Trump Jr.’s texts during the U.S. Capitol riot to former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows.

The stunning messages revealed that the very people that are downplaying the deadly insurrection are the ones that were begging the twice-impeached one-term President to put a stop to it, including his eldest son.

“He’s got to condemn this shit ASAP,” Donald Trump Jr. texted Mark Meadows as the Capitol came under siege.

“I’m pushing it hard. I agree,” Meadows replied.

“We need an Oval Office address,” Junior texted when his father failed to act. “He has to lead now. It has gone too far and gotten out of hand.”

MSNBC host Lawrence O’Donnell asked Mary Trump why Junior would text Meadows instead of his own father.

“I wish that the answer you had given was the right one ― caller ID,” she said. “But in this particular instance, it’s simply cowardice because Donnie knew that the message he was delivering was the message his father did not want to hear.”

She went on to predict that her uncle would lash out over the release of the messages, and yeah, we see that coming from a mile away. But she said she doesn’t know “how many people are left for him to get rid of because his circle has become so incredibly small.”

Watch:

As O’Donnell pointed out, the people texting Meadows all believed that the former President had the power to stop the violent riot at the Capitol. The shocking pleas from Trump’s eldest son, Donald Trump, Jr., and leading conservative figures at Fox News, were ignored for quite some time. And all because one mentally ill man couldn’t accept that he was defeated by Joe Biden in the electoral and popular vote. However, those same people would still somehow support a Trump run in 2024.
