Matt Gaetz Could Be In Huge Trouble As “Wingman” Reportedly Granted Sentencing Delay To Cooperate With Prosecutors

Gaetz is in big boy trouble.

Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz probably isn’t sleeping very well lately. The MAGA Congressman’s close associate Joel Greenberg, a former Seminole County, Florida tax commissioner, had struck a deal with federal prosecutors to reduce his criminal case. Greenberg has been helping investigators in their sprawling investigation that includes a sex trafficking probe. Greenberg is probably flipping like a pancake on a hot griddle. And some witnesses have said that Gaetz snorted cocaine and had sex with an escort who was paid with campaign money. And things keep getting worse for Gaetz.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, a Florida judge has just granted a request by Greenberg, who pleaded guilty to six crimes, to delay his sentencing as he continues cooperating with federal investigators.

Greenberg’s attorney, Fritz Scheller, asked for a 90-day delay.

“Scheller cited Greenberg’s ongoing cooperation with federal authorities, as he agreed to in a plea deal in which prosecutors agreed to drop 27 of the 33 counts on which he had been indicted in the sprawling investigation,” the outlet reports.

“Said cooperation, which could impact his ultimate sentence, cannot be completed prior to the time of his sentencing,” Scheller wrote, according to the Sentinel.

“Greenberg could face 12 years in prison — the statutory minimum for his offenses — though prosecutors have indicated they will recommend a lesser sentence if Greenberg provides substantial assistance,” the report continues.

“The investigation, which started out targeting Greenberg’s embezzlement of public funds for a cryptocurrency scheme, has reportedly widened to target everything from potential public corruption in medical marijuana politics to possible sex trafficking crimes by his associates,” the report adds.

It was previously reported that Greenberg will identify the escort who led a cocaine-fueled party that Gaetz attended to investigators as one of more than 15 young women the Florida Congressman paid for sex. I certainly wouldn’t want to be in Gaetz’s clown shoes right now. Gaetz has denied the accusations and has gone as far as to blame the deep state. And I don’t think the court will take that seriously, though.
