Matt Gaetz Wants To Nominate Trump For Speaker Of The House: “Can You Just Imagine Nancy Pelosi Having To Hand That Gavel To Donald J. Trump?”

What a loser.

Controversial Republican representatives Marjorie Taylor Greene and Matt Gaetz held an America First event in Des Moines on Thursday night, and it was, of course, weird. Greene is the Jewish Space Lasers conspiracy theorist from Georgia, and Gaetz is under investigation for the possible sex trafficking of a minor. According to the Iowa Capitol Dispatch, the crowd didn’t fill the ballroom at the Iowa Events Center; however, the outlet notes that it was an enthusiastic crowd.

Greene said she would file articles of impeachment against Joe Biden Friday, just one day after calling the President a “piece of shit” on social media.

“I believe in firing people when they’re corrupt, and they do a bad job,” Marjorie Three Names said. “Joe Biden is failing America, and he needs to be impeached.”

Watch:

That’s par for the course for Greene; after all, she’s been down this road before in trying to get Biden impeached while the Democrats have the majority in the House.  She didn’t mention how President Biden is corrupt; she only said the words.

As for Gaetz, he suggested that Republicans win the House so that former President Donald Trump can be made Speaker of the House to take Nancy Pelosi’s gavel away. Gaetz mentioned the Jan. 6 insurrectionist, Richard Barnett, the Arkansas man who sat at a desk in House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s office during the siege of the U.S. Capitol by pro-Trump extremists.

“Can you image Nancy Pelosi having to hand that gavel to Donald J. Trump?” Gaetz told the crowd. “She didn’t like when that Jan 6. guy was sitting in her chair in her office. She is really not going to like seeing Trump sitting in her chair.”

Watch:

This is likely a fundraising stunt for Gaetz and Greene. They haven’t mentioned their policies, and for Greene’s part, she was stripped of her committee assignments for supporting violence against Democrats. Why would anyone want a twice-impeached one-term president as Speaker of the House? Maybe the two congress members should think about doing their jobs instead of throwing red meat at their supporters.
