Mayo Clinic Appears To Have Deleted Tweet About Face Masks And VP’s Visit After Pence Showed Up Without Mask

Wait, what?

With the coronavirus pandemic hammering the US economy, while the disease has killed nearly fifty-eight thousand people and suddenly left twenty-six million Americans out of work, it’s not too much to ask for our leadership to take COVID-19 seriously. While Americans are self-quarantining to flatten the coronavirus curve, Vice President Mike Pence defied a simple rule from the Mayo Clinic: Wear a face mask, Mr. Man, while visiting the clinic in Minnesota on Tuesday.

Pence was there to discuss a partnership with the Mayo Clinic, the state, and the University of Minnesota to increase testing. But by flouting the rule, Pence put others at risk, and that’s just irresponsible behavior from a vice president. Everyone around Pence was wearing a mask, but not the vice president. Maybe he was trying to be edgy in that cardboard cut-out kind of way.

Here’s a photo of Pence being a douche canoe:

That was weird enough; then the Mayo Clinic deleted the following tweet after Pence’s meeting.

It’s campus policy to wear a mask amid the pandemic.

This is odd because out in public, instead of shaking hands, the vice president always partakes in an elbow bump with his colleagues. So Pence is aware of how not to spread the disease, he just didn’t give a shit today. But the Mayo Clinic was likely a good campaign stop for him to take part in a photo-op. We don’t know why the famed clinic deleted the tweet, but we do wish we could see more balls or ovaries after each blunder from this administration amid the national crisis.

Personally, if I met Pence before the pandemic, I’d still want his face covered.
