Melania Offered “Thoughts And Prayers” To COVID-19 Victims And Twitter Let Her Have It: “They Don’t Need Your Prayers, They Need Masks”

When are Republicans going to learn that thoughts and prayers don't save lives?

Just like in the aftermath of school shootings that take dozens of lives too soon, Melania Trump offered mere “thoughts and prayers” to the families of more than 42,000 Americans who have perished as a result of her husband’s recklessness.

Again, over 42,000 Americans have died from the coronavirus and more than 800,000 have been infected across the country. The death toll is only going to continue to rise.

Yet President Donald Trump has failed to send desperately-needed resources to many states, and hospitals are running out of ventilators, masks, gowns, gloves and other vital supplies.

But instead of urging her husband — who has not even bothered to tweet condolences to those who are suffering and losing people — to take the necessary and proper actions, Melania only offered “thoughts and prayers,” a phrase that gets more insulting every time it is used.

Twitter users were not amused.

This crisis is not going to end any time soon. Americans need more than “thoughts and prayers” to survive the pandemic. They need real leadership. And the Trumps’ messages to America just aren’t cutting it, meaning every single death is on them.
