Melania Trump never seemed to appreciate her role as first lady after her husband claimed victory in 2016, and she doesn’t want to return to that life, even though Donald has teased about a 2024 run. Melania did leave the White House as the least popular first lady in history just as her husband left office as the least popular president in history. Since leaving the White House, Melania hasn’t been publicly spotted very much, and it appears she’d like to keep her privacy.
CNN reports that Melania Trump has told friends that she has no intention of campaigning with her husband or taking up the role as first lady again. She’s done.
“Melania Trump’s disinterest in public political life runs deep enough that she has gone so far as to tell several friends that not only does she not intend to bolster her husband’s inflated political ambitions, she has zero desire for a White House redux, according to several people who spoke with CNN about her mindset,” the outlet reports.
“Being first lady again is not what she wants,” said one person who was close with Trump during her time in the White House. “For her, it was a chapter — and it’s over, and that’s that.”

She won’t be attending rallies if her husband officially throws his hat in the ring again.
“You’re not going to see her at rallies or campaign events, even if he ‘officially’ says he’s running again,” another person told CNN that’s aware of the disinterest Trump has shown in supporting the twice-impeached one-term president’s possible bid for the White House. “Instead, it’s going to be Lara (Eric Trump’s wife) or (Kimberly) Guilfoyle (Donald Trump Jr.’s girlfriend). They have that same urge Trump has to (run) again; Melania absolutely does not.”
As ex-President Trump weighs another presidential run in 2024, at least one person close to him isn’t on board: Melania. CNN’s @KateBennett_DC shares her exclusive reporting with @kaitlancollins. #InsidePoliticsSunday pic.twitter.com/sBpyA37veM

Meanwhile, Donald Trump has continued to fundraise and hold rallies during the nine months since he lost the election to President Joe Biden. The former president still hasn’t grasped that he was defeated in both the electoral and popular vote, but it appears that his wife has and wants to move on. Melania and her husband gave up living in New York City, where the couple is loathed, and now she plans to reside full-time at Mar-a-Lago while Barron Trump attends a private high school.
