Trump’s entire inaugural committee has been under criminal investigation by the Southern District of New York for quite some time now due to allegations of quid pro quo arrangements offered to donors by the committee as well as accusations of funds being diverted to improve Trump family businesses.
Of course, amid these allegations, the Trump family has thrown every convenient scapegoat they’ve had to the wolves in an attempt to cover their own asses. The former adviser to First Lady Melania Trump and a contractor for President Donald Trump’s inaugural committee, Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, was one of the unlucky ones — when the White House fired her, claiming that she was excessively profiting from the event.
According to a report from the New York Times, Wolkoff is disputing the claims made by the White House. Saying instead that officials were using her merely as a place to lay the blame for the extensive wrongdoing that that took place in the inaugural fund.
“Was I fired? No,” Winston Wolkoff stated. “Did I personally receive $26 million or $1.6 million? No. Was I thrown under the bus? Yes.”

Melania Trump’s former advisor was terminated after a financial report came out showing that WIS Media Partners, an entity that she had incorporated, received $26 million from the inaugural funds. The report alleged that Wolkoff’s own firm received $1.62 million that was distributed to her employees, and she herself received $500,000.
This is the first time that Stephanie has provided any significant public comment about the events surrounding her split from the White House and Trump team. However, her attorney did recently inform inaugural committee officials that she has been in full cooperation with the Southern District of New York in regards to their investigations into the Trump campaign.
It seems that Wolkoff has no interest in playing the Trump scapegoat, and has every intention of giving the SDNY and anyone else that may ask all the information they need against the president and First Lady.
We would say we’re surprised. But truthfully, Wolkoff is just yet another former Trump official that’s sick of being bullied and ruined by this administration.
