As many prominent figures have done lately, the former First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama, recently delivered her online commencement address. And just like the headstrong, generous, compassionate, and fiery woman she is, she used the opportunity to call on young people across the nation to get more involved in the political process of this nation as so many of them take to the streets demanding justice against police brutality in the United States — all while getting in one hell of a not-so-subtle jab at Donald Trump without ever mentioning him by name.
Because she’s just. That. Good.
“Sometimes it’s easier to stand with strangers at a protest than it is to challenge people in your own backyard,” Obama said during her address.
“We cannot allow our hurt and frustration to turn against each other,” the former First Lady added.

“So graduates, I hope that what you are going through right now pushes you not just to think about what kind of career your want to build, but what kind of person do you want to be… treating people right will never ever fail you,” Michelle concluded her address.
The former First Lady’s commencement address came just on the heels of First Daughter Ivanka Trump’s similar event being canceled in light of her father’s downright cruel response to George Floyd’s murder and the subsequent protests that have taken place to demand justice.
Wichita State University Tech President Sheree Utash in a statement:
In light of the social justice issues brought forth by George Floyd’s death, I understand and take responsibility that the timing of the announcement was insensitive. For this, I’m sorry that was never the intent, and I want you to know I have heard you and we are responding.”
The cancellation of the event brought about a rather ridiculous response from the first daughter who took to her social media account to whine about cancel culture in the US — pinpointing the startling difference between her father’s administration and the one that came before.
