Former Michigan gubernatorial candidate Abdul El-Sayed launched a tweet to support Gov. Gretchen Whitmer after Donald Trump’s unrelenting attacks on who the president calls “the woman in Michigan.” President Petulance also on Friday admitted that he’d urged Vice President Mike Pence not to call her or Washington Gov. Jay Inslee. “If they don’t treat you right, I don’t call,” Trump said, even though states are in dire need of medical equipment.
El-Sayed, a progressive candidate who ran for Michigan’s gubernatorial nomination in 2018, tweeted in support of his former opponent while calling out Trump.
“#ThatWomanInMichigan is @GovWhitmer,” he tweeted. “I ran against her. And though we may not always agree on everything, I know how tough she is. Leading in crisis is hard. It’s even HARDER when the President is inept. I admire the work she’s putting in for our state. And I’ve got her back.”

When it comes to Donald Trump, he holds a grudge like a dog with a bone. Governor Whitmer revealed this week that the supplies her state needs to fight against the massive coronavirus outbreak are now being withheld after the president was interviewed by Sean Hannity and attacked her again. This is the world we live in now. Most of us are left holding our breath, just hoping Trump doesn’t withhold equipment from a state in which Americans are dying.
Regardless of Trump’s demand for Pence to not contact Whitmer, she did talk to the Vice President today and said they had a “good call.” At least Pence is aware of how badly it would reflect on him to ignore her pleas for help unless she bows down to the president.
Trump is a sadistic fuckhead, but his supporters thought voting in their inexperienced, narcissistic pissdaddy was a good idea. So, that’s how we got here.
