If anyone (in the Conservative crowd) was still holding out hope that disgraced former president Donald Trump and his old VP Mike Pence would somehow end up making nice again, this newest report is a pretty good indicator not to hold your breath any longer. Because once Donald finds out about this, I have a feeling that “pissed” will be an understatement.

A new report from Business Insider features an excerpt from a new book first obtained by POLITICO and it reveals that former Vice President Mike Pence once privately heaped his praises on a Trump adviser after the individual “unloaded” on Donald Trump, right to his face, over his heinous comments following the Charlottesville, Virginia, white supremacy rally.

The excerpt featuring the revelation hails from Wall Street Journal reporter Michael C. Bender’s new book, Frankly We Did Win This Election’: The Inside Story of How Donald Trump Lost. According to the excerpt, Trump’s National Economic Council director Gary Cohn was absolutely furious with the then-president when Trump accused both sides of being guilty of violence after Heather Heyer was murdered by a white supremacist when he ran her over with his car.

The book claims that Cohn, a Jewish man, had grown “despondent” with Trump’s comments when he said, “We condemn in the strongest possible terms this egregious display of hatred, bigotry, and violence on many sides – on many sides.” Cohn was allegedly “increasingly alarmed and uncomfortable” with Donald Trump’s stance on the events that took place on that fateful day.

According to the excerpt, Cohn would go on to “unload” on Donald Trump later on that day during a meeting in the Oval Office, where he told the then-president that his “lack of clarity had been harmful to the country,” before threatening to quit his position in the Trump administration.

Bender says that during the meeting, no one had Cohn’s back, but that Pence stopped by the adviser’s office just minutes after it all went down to say, “I’m proud of you.”
