Mitch McConnell Doesn’t Waste Any Time, Appears To Be Making Money Off Trump’s Acquittal

It's already begun.

Kentucky Senator and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has been chomping at the bit to formally acquit President Donald Trump in the Senate long before formal impeachment proceedings had ever been opened against him — and we may have just found out why.

Within moments of Trump’s formal “acquittal” in the Senate — ultimately nothing more than a partisan hack job just like Mitch and his cronies promised from the very beginning — the Senate Majority Leader has already taken to lining his pockets on his “success.”

In an email to his supporters, McConnell’s re-election campaign called on folks to open their wallets, purses, and turn their pockets inside out to fork over their cash to fund another term for the Senator.

“NOT GUILTY: We just acquitted President Trump” Mitch’s email was headlined. They then went on to label the Senate impeachment trial as an “unfair impeachment circus” and called on those who received the email to “show President Trump that the American people have his back.”

It went on to call on recipients of the Mitch campaign email to “stand with President Trump” by raising a startling (for a Republican) $150,000 by midnight tonight.

In a press conference following the unsurprising, albeit disgusting vote, McConnell referred to the impeachment trial during a press conference as “in the rearview mirror” and went on to divulge his thoughts surrounding GOP Senator Mitt Romney’s break from his party when he chose to vote in favor of Trump’s conviction, stating that he was “surprised and disappointed.”

To be frank, all of these people have seemingly made a game out of how much money they can line their campaigns and pockets with as a result of these very serious formal impeachment proceedings. Even Trump himself raked in a shocking $13 million on the heels of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s impeachment proceeding announcement, according to a report from the Associated Press.

You’d have to be blind to not see the corruption that’s right before our eyes.
