Mitch McConnell Has Hit A New Low As Even Lindsey Graham Slams Him For Stimulus Games

He's not wrong.

Sen. Lindsay Graham (R-SC) took to Twitter on Friday to urge the Republican-led Senate to avoid delaying passing a bill that includes $2,000 direct survival checks to Americans, a move that’s been shut down by Senate majority leader Mitch McConnell who characterized the move to help struggling Americans as “socialism.” Meanwhile, nearly three hundred and fifty thousand Americans are dead from the coronavirus, and the pandemic has walloped most of us financially.

“With all due respect to my Republican colleagues, a $2k direct payment for individuals and families who are struggling is not socialism,” Graham said in a series of tweets. “In my view, it is necessary in the times in which we live.”

Graham has a human moment for a change.

Mitch McConnell and Lindsey Graham were all for gifting the wealthy with a tax cut, but now, there’s a slap fight over giving Americans assistance in a time of need. Even Donald Trump has urged Congress to come to an agreement that includes the $2,000 increase in direct payments for Americans. However, the president tied that to repealing Section 230 because Twitter hurt his feelings. House Democrats have been trying to get the payments to Americans, but McConnell has repeatedly shut it down. Friday was the fourth day in a row that Senate Republicans, led by McConnell, blocked the House-passed bill that includes the $2,000 survival checks.

And I don’t know what Lindsey’s endgame is here, but whatever it is, we know that Americans are struggling amid multiple crises and need assistance.
