In the direct aftermath of Monday’s Fourth of July shooting in Highland Park, Illinois, more and more details are now emerging on not only the 21-year-old shooter himself but his parents and home life as well — and it seems each is more disturbing than the last.

As reports indicate that civil liability charges against Robert “Bobby” Crimo III’s parents — most specifically Bobby’s father, Robert Crimo Sr., who willingly sponsored the soon-to-be gunman’s FOID card application that allowed Bobby Crimo to purchase a slew of guns despite previously documented mental health disturbances — more and more information is now coming to light, telling of a deeply troubling home life for Bobby Crimo, who would go on to shoot and kill 7 people and injure upwards of 40 more at an Independence Day parade in his home city.

Just earlier this morning, we reported on the newly released police reports that revealed multiple instances of domestic violence between Bobby Crimo’s father Robert, and his mother, Denise Pesina, who was caught on video footage just hours after the mass shooting on Monday, in a seemingly angry confrontation with a SWAT police team.

Now, new reporting has revealed that Bobby Crimo was actually subjected to a long history of dysfunction in his family, as newly uncovered police reports reveal that the gunman’s mother, Denise Pesina, was convicted on charges of abandoning a then 2-year-old Bobby in a hot car.

The Independent reports:

In the shocking incident in 2002, Denise Pesina left her toddler son alone inside a vehicle in the parking lot of a toy store for around 27 minutes.

The windows of the car were rolled all the way up and it was 79 degrees outside.

Ms Pesina pleaded guilty to child endangerment over the incident, while it remains unclear if a then-two-year-old Mr Crimo sustained any injuries.”

Earlier today, we reported on remarks made by Bobby Crimo’s former classmate from 5 years old through high school, who described a deeply troubled Crimo even during childhood and admitted that she was not shocked upon learning that her former classmate was the alleged Fourth of July mass shooter.
