MSNBC Host Said That “Donald Trump Finally Made A Concession Speech” After Ex-President Admits “We Didn’t Win” During Hannity Interview

It's about time, dude.

It’s been over seven months since the presidential election, and finally, Donald Trump admitted during an interview with Fox News’s Sean Hannity that he lost to Joe Biden. However, the twice-impeached one-term president could always walk that back at some point. First, Hannity posed a question, saying, “if you were still president…” and Trump did not correct him. Then, after falsely claiming that he got 75 million votes, he said, “We didn’t win but let’s see what happened on that.” MSNBC hosts Rachel Maddow and Lawrence O’Donnell discussed that, calling it a concession speech.

“And this is big,” O’Donnell said. “Donald Trump finally conceded tonight; he delivered the concession speech. He did. Yes. Not making this up. To Sean Hannity on that hour. Here’s how it went. It’s not the traditional form. First of all, Sean Hannity said to him, more than once, began questions with, ‘if you were still president.’ And Donald Trump did not correct him. Donald Trump went on and said words. I’m not going to say he answered the question, but he said words after the question mark. More than once: ‘If you were still president.’ And then, towards the end of the discussion, Donald Trump actually said this about Joe Biden. ‘I want him to do well.’ Now that is — that’s in every concession speech. ‘I want him to do well.’ I mean, that’s it. That — there it is. The concession speech.”

Here’s a clip of Trump finally admitting to Hannity that he lost the presidential election:

We aren’t going to give Trump credit for finally facing reality. The former president should have admitted that he lost his bid for reelection before January 6th to allow a peaceful transition of power. Hannity must have urged Trump to move on and just let it go. Trump also falsely claimed that he garnered 75 million votes. Trump got 74 million votes, though.
