Enough is enough.

This nation and its people have been through a lot at the hands of Donald J. Trump — and I do mean a lot. But the attack we experienced on this country’s Capitol building yesterday, at the deliberate, violent hands of Trump’s very own people, was more than I can even put into words.

And don’t you, for even a second, doubt that these were Trump’s people, following Trump’s firing orders. I don’t care what he said in a handful of tweets and a shotty video. We have watched in horror over the last several months as Donald Trump called on the Proud Boys to “stand back and stand by.” We have read the tweets encouraging his supporters to participate in the protests that shook the very core of our democracy yesterday. We have heard him, with our own ear, sow doubt into the American democratic process and try to delegitimize the very framework of what makes this country free. And we listened, yesterday afternoon, as he told his supporters that he loved them, they are special. We will not be gaslit — we know who these people are, we know who they belong to. And House Speaker Nancy Pelosi does too.

Ever since the disaster took place yesterday, talks of impeachment and invoking the 25th Amendment have been swirling. But the House Speaker took the opportunity today to set the record straight on just exactly what she feels should happen to Donald Trump.

In a public briefing today, Speaker Pelosi called upon Vice President Mike Pence to invoke the 25th Amendment against Donald Trump. She then went on to note that, in Pence is not prepared to make such a move, then the members of Congress may soon be prepared to move forward with another article of impeachment against Trump.
