Can you blame them?

Donald Trump makes people feel so throat-punchy that a replica of the former president had to be moved into storage after becoming a punching bag of sorts. Visitors at the Louis Tussaud’s Waxworks on Alamo Plaza punched and clawed at the sculpture so much that, according to the San Antonio Express, the battered figure had to be tossed into storage.

“They punched and scratched the figure, inflicting so much damage that management had it pulled from public view, said Clay Stewart, regional manager for Ripley Entertainment, which owns the wax museum,” the outlet reports.

Admittedly, I’m having a hard time writing this because I’m laughing so hard. Now, we do not condone violence here, but it’s a sculpture, and it’s a sculpture of a very bad man, OK?

The outlet reports that the scratches to Donald Trump’s twice-impeached face were deep.

“When it’s a highly political figure, attacks can be a problem,” Stewart said.

“It’s unclear when the wax museum will repair Trump and put him back on display. Stewart said it likely won’t happen until after the museum receives a wax figure of President Joe Biden, currently in the works at Ripley Entertainment’s headquarters in Orlando, Fla.,” the report continues. And we’re sure Trump will take the news of Biden’s wax figure being featured in the museum calmly and respectfully (wink wink).

“Wax figures are rotated all the time,” Stewart said. Sure, but they are tossed into storage because people keeping punching them in the face. But, that was a good save, Mr. Stewart. We don’t want to upset Trump supporters to the point that they might mount a violent takeover of the museum.

The outlet is clear to note that Trump’s removal from the museum “resulted from the damage the figure sustained.”

“Our wax figures will need repairing from time to time,” said Suzanne Smagala-Potts, Ripley Entertainment’s public relations director. Stewart said that the attacks on the wax Trump figure increased as the 2020 presidential campaign heated up early in the summer.

First, they tried moving the Trump figure to the lobby, where ticket attendants could keep an eye out for attackers, but that didn’t stop visitors from attacking it. That’s when Tussaud’s decided to move Trump into storage in July quietly.

And just so the Red Hats don’t get too aggressive over this, previously, visitors tore off the Obama figure’s ears six times, and Bush’s nose was punched in.
