House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif) had a few choice words for Donald Trump after he has called seemingly everything he doesn’t want to hear or wants to cover up “a hoax.” Trump needs to hire a new writer since his old talking points are worn out.
Pelosi threw some shade at the President on Thursday after Trump claimed the allegations of Russia placing a bounty on American soldiers in Afghanistan were a hoax.
“He’ll say this is a hoax, and it’s a hoax that [Russia is] 24/7 trying to disrupt our elections like they did in 2016,” Pelosi told MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle. “He says that coronavirus is a hoax. The fact is, the president himself is a hoax.”

On Wednesday morning, Trump called reports the Russian bounty story that has been confirmed by every major news outlet, as well as multiple countries, a “fake news” story that was created to damage him and the Republican party. And he’s going with that even though three NATO officials told Business Insider they had been briefed on the matter by US intelligence.
The reports Trump denies state that there are intelligence briefings that discuss bounties being offered to Taliban extremists from Russia on U.S. soldiers. And now, three separate Taliban sources confirmed the Russian bounty story. The only people left who are denying it, are Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The Gang of Eight – of which Nancy Pelosi is a member – was finally briefed on the situation Thursday, and they took a shot at Trump for not reading his intel briefings.
“Our Armed Forces would be better served if President Trump spent more time reading his daily briefing and less time planning military parades and defending relics of the Confederacy,” the pair wrote, according to Axios.
“Force protection is a primary purpose of intelligence,” the statement continued. “It should have the same importance to the Commander-in-Chief. Any reports of threats on our troops must be pursued relentlessly.”
“These reports are coming to light in the context of the President being soft on Vladimir Putin when it comes to NATO, the G7, Crimea, Ukraine, and the ongoing undermining of the integrity of our elections,” they said.
With this president, when he claims something is a hoax, we can pretty much guarantee that it’s true.
