House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) took a shot at Donald Trump over his weak leadership amid the massive coronavirus pandemic that has halted the U.S. economy as Americans shelter at home to flatten the COVID-19 curve. Trump had recently been bashing his favorite network for featuring Democrats on Fox News who dare to be critical of his failure to address the pandemic when the president first learned of the looming threat.

Fox host Chris Wallace asked Pelosi why she had recently described Trump’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic as “weak,” and asked whether partisan attacks are helpful amid the national crisis.

“I understand that he goes after you, but it’s a two-way street,” Wallace said.

Pelosi took Trump to task for his failures, but in the most Pelosi way ever.

“I’ll tell you why I came to that,” Pelosi said. “What I decided was the president has made many mistakes. Okay, let’s have an after-action review of that.”

“But if he continued to put forth proposals that were not science-based — what did he say? It’s a hoax, it’s magically going to go away? Okay, put that aside,” she continued to say. “But to proceed with policies that were not science-based, which are not evidence-based and to blame others.”

Then Pelosi blasted Trump for blaming others.

“Name anybody, blame the governors, blame me, blame the World Health Organization,” Pelosi said. “Leaders take responsibility. So I said he’s a weak leader. He doesn’t take responsibility. He places blame on others.”

“And that might have been okay before, but we cannot continue down a path that is — again — I come back to science, science, science,” she said, “evidence, data on how we could go forward.

Watch:

As for “partisan attacks,” a president is supposed to lead by example, but Trump is incapable of that. Trump failed to respond to the threat of a pandemic over five months ago. Instead, he held rallies and played golf. At one rally, Trump even mocked the coronavirus, and now over one hundred thousand Americans have died from the disease. Trump can continue to play the blame game, but most Americans — at least the sane ones — can see that he is unfit for office.
