Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s daughter, Christine Pelosi, revealed that her family did not discuss Donald Trump’s impeachment while enjoying their Christmas dinner. While Trump spent the holiday obsessively lashing out at the House Speaker, Nancy Pelosi spent her time seeing how her grandchildren are doing, while her family members talked about sports and movies.

“You have to put politics on the shelf,” Christine Pelosi said. “You can’t obsess about things 24/7, you need to recharge and rejuvenate… if you don’t build a life with your family then you don’t have a quality of life that you can be out there defending when it’s time to get back to work.”

Pelosi’s daughter also spoke of her mother’s power play in which she has withheld the articles of impeachment from the Senate as leverage in negotiations with Senate Republicans over the rules for Trump’s impeachment trial. She also touched on the many issues Speaker Pelosi has been working on and said, ‘There’s a lot of work that the Senate can do.”

“The key is not so much what she does but how she does it,” she explained.

Pelosi, by the way, tweeted this clip this morning — not on Christmas day.

Trump, who has five children and ten grandchildren and once referred to his own son Barron as “Melania’s son,” spent his Christmas rage-tweeting over his impeachment while targeting Pelosi in a lengthy series of tweets. Then, he bragged about strong holiday retail sales instead of spending time with the fam.

Meanwhile, Trump is back again today shitposting about Speaker Pelosi while retweeting random people that heap praise on the “president.” In other words, Donald spent his Christmas exactly how he spends every other day: acting like a raving lunatic.
