New Member Of Trump’s Legal Team Just Appeared To Distance Himself From POTUS: “I’m Not A Full-Fledged Member”

You know it's bad when Epstein's lawyer doesn't want to tie his name to you.

Now that Trump’s articles of impeachment have been formally delivered to the Senate and his official impeachment trial is set to take off this coming Tuesday, Trump has finally settled on a defense team that seems to be just as monumentally screwed up as he is.

Among those chosen to defend Trump against his multitude of high crimes and misdemeanors is Alan Dershowitz, one part of the dream team that helped Jeffrey Epstein secure his infamous lenient sweetheart deal the first time he was busted for trafficking children for sex — securing him a measly 13 months under house arrest and resulting in the untimely and pressured resignation of recent Labor Secretary Alex Acosta.

But from the sounds of it, Dershowitz felt better about defending a literal child rapist than he does Donald Trump, as he now seems to be trying to distance himself from the president after it was announced that he would be part of his legal team.

During an interview with Dan Abrams, founder of Mediate, on The Dan Abrams Show on SiriusXM’s POTUS Channel, the former Epstein attorney was quick to clarify that he wasn’t a “full-fledged” member of Trump’s impeachment defense team — explaining that his involvement will be limited to a one-hour constitutional defense of Trump before the Senate.

“I think it overstates it to say I’m a member of the Trump team,” Dershowitz stated. “I was asked to present the constitutional argument that I would have presented had Hillary Clinton been elected and had she been impeached.”

“I was asked to present my constitutional argument against impeachment,” the attorney went on. “I will be there for one hour, basically, presenting my argument. But I’m not a full-fledged member of the defense team in any realistic sense of that term.”

Dershowitz also released a more all-encompassing statement on Twitter today after the news of  his and Ken Starr’s appointment to the Trump legal team broke:

You know, it’s kind of the epitome of fucked when the dude that got Jeffrey Epstein off the hook and didn’t care who knew it doesn’t really want his name to be tied to you for the rest of history.

That’s a really bad sign, Trump.
