New Report Claims Nearly A Third Of Republicans Believe Trump’s Latest Delusional Claim

You gotta be kidding me.

Some of Trump’s people (*cough, cough* We’re looking at you, Pillow Man) have been claiming over the last few months that disgraced ex-president Donald Trump will soon be “reinstated,” despite the fact that the guy clearly and fairly (whether he wants to admit it or not) lost the 2020 presidential election to Joe Biden. This “theory” has become so widespread, in fact, that the New York Times’s Maggie Haberman reported just over two months ago that Trump himself actually believes that he will be back in the White House soon; something that was later corroborated by multiple other outlets.

Trump seemed to solidify this reporting personally back in June when he told a North Carolina crowd, “we’re gonna take back the White House, and sooner than you think.”

Over the months, the goalpost for this claim has been moved what feels like a thousand times. However, the GOP crazies finally seem to have settled on August 13th as the big day.

Now, as I’m sure you’ll note here, the 13th of August is in two days. Quite literally this coming Friday. Yet, I don’t know about you, but I’ve seen absolutely no indication of any sort of power change going down within the White House. In fact, President Biden is carrying on with day-to-day business just as you’d expect, with probably less than a single thought about Donald Trump in his mind.

But nevertheless, these people still seem to believe that Donald is going to weasel his way back into the presidency in just two short days. In fact, according to a new poll from Politico/Morning Consult today, a startling third of Republicans genuinely believe that Trump will be “reinstated” by the August 13th “deadline” this month.

Mediaite reports on the poll:

Among Republicans, 29 percent said it is either “very likely” (19%) or “somewhat likely” (10%) that Trump will be reinstated. That belief was even stronger among Republican women, 32 percent of whom see Trump’s reinstatement this year as likely.

And there’s an illustrative correlation between those Republican voters who believe Trump will be reinstated and the nearly identical 27 percent of “not fully vaccinated” people who say it is “very likely” (16%) or “somewhat likely” (11%) that Trump will be reinstated.”

Lindell has recently backed off of the August 13th date after numerous “deadlines” came and passed, but that’s done nothing to staunch his relentless election conspiracy theories and lies that he’s broadcast through whoever would have him. And it’s evidently done absolutely nothing to sway the Republican sheep who believe this garbage.
