NYT Reports This Morning’s FBI Attack Suspect May Have Been Involved In The January 6th Capitol Attack

The worst part? I'm not even surprised.

In the aftermath of the bombshell FBI search warrant raid on Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago compound earlier this week, law enforcement officials with the Ohio State Patrol found themselves in a gunfire-fueled standoff with an individual who allegedly attempted to break into the FBI’s Cincinnati office this morning. One local emergency management office has since confirmed that the standoff, which took place in a large cornfield, ultimately came to an end at around 4:30 p.m. local time. The Washington Post reports that the suspect was killed. Clinton County Emergency Management announced that the lockdown in the area, related to the attack, was over 4:25 p.m.

The suspect has reportedly since been identified as 42-year-old Ricky Shiffer, per a spokesperson for the Ohio State Patrol who confirmed this with The Daily Beast. Shiffer’s public records show that he was a resident of Columbus, Ohio.

As it stands, there has been no solid confirmation that this morning’s attack on the Cincinnati FBI building was directly related to the FBI search warrant raid on Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort/home earlier this week. However, officials have already begun to rightfully investigate the likely connection, and what they’re coming up with does not spell good news for the state of this nation.

According to new reporting from the New York Times, an individual appearing to be Ricky Shiffer was prominently featured in a Jan. 5, 2021, Facebook video that showed him at a pro-Trump D.C. rally the night before the US Capitol building was brutally and violently attacked. The Times cited two law enforcement sources who said that investigators are thoroughly looking into Shiffer’s ties to the various extremist groups that were involved in the Capitol insurrection, following his alleged attack against the FBI.

An account bearing Shiffer’s name can be found on Twitter, only following two people, one of which is Donald Trump’s eldest son, Don Jr. This same account posted a reply to a tweet in May, claiming to have been present at the January 6th Capitol attack.

“I was there. We watched as your goons did that,” Shiffer wrote, seemingly suggesting that Donald Trump’s sworn enemies were the ones responsible for the carnage, violence, and death. “When I told the ones trying to break back in that Trump tweeted be peaceful, one of them said, ‘Fuck Trump.'”

A separate tweet saw Shiffer name-checking the Proud Boys — an ultra Right-wing hate/militia group that played an extremely large role in the fateful Capitol attack.

Immediately following Monday’s Mar-a-Lago raid, we witnessed the scene outside of the ex-president’s compound — featuring a countless number of blindly devout MAGA followers protesting the move.

It’s become increasingly clear that the MAGA crowd has devolved past the point of a political party. This is a cult, and a dangerous one, at that.
