Over the last week or two, former President Donald Trump’s legal woes have gone from bad to worse, as Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance continues to crack down on him, New York District Attorney Letitia James moves her investigation to the criminal side, Congress obtains his coveted financial documents, and people continue to sue him left and right, including Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell’s lawsuit over Trump’s incitement of the January 6th riot.
While in public appearances and on his little blog, the ex-president tends to put on a facade of confidence and strength, acting as though all of these legal torments and relentless “witch hunts” just don’t bother him at all. But frankly, we all know better than that.
According to New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman, ex-President Trump is actually growing increasingly anxious over the prospect of being prosecuted for his numerous transgressions.
Haberman’s comments came during an appearance on CNN where she claimed that the former president has been conducting several meetings with officials from the Trump Organization to go over the numerous legal perils he’s facing down from as prosecutors with the New York District Attorney’s office conjure a grand jury that could very well soon indict him for charges of tax fraud.

“I think Trump has been very, very frustrated and concerned about these investigations for several months even before he left the White House, but I think the concerns have escalated in the last few months,” Haberman said. “I think he’s been at Trump Tower a couple of times since he returned to Palm Beach… and there have been lots of meetings related to these investigations.”
Haberman went on to predict that Trump will quickly label any indictments against him as a “witch hunt” and that the indictment will almost assuredly increase the chances that he runs again in 2024, for no other reason than to be able to label the charges as “politically motivated.”
“He’s going to say these people are going after him, investigators are going after him, because he’s still in the political limelight,” the NYT reporter explained.
