Donald Trump totally lost his shit after former First Lady Michelle Obama gave an inspiring speech for the first night of the Democratic National Convention. Still, tonight, her husband — the object of Trump’s obsessive jealousy — is going for the jugular. President Barack Obama will deliver his DNC speech from Philadelphia on Wednesday night, addressing the nation from the Museum of the American Revolution. Obama hasn’t called out Trump by name before, but tonight, the former president is going to do just that, according to excerpts from his prepared remarks.
“I did hope, for the sake of our country, that Donald Trump might show some interest in taking the job seriously,” Obama plans to say. “But he never did. He’s shown no interest in putting in the work; no interest in finding common ground; no interest in using the awesome power of his office to help anyone but himself and his friends; no interest in treating the presidency as anything but one more reality show that he can use to get the attention he craves.”
Obama is going to note Trump’s failure to guide us through the pandemic.
“Trump hasn’t grown into the job because he can’t. And the consequences of that failure are severe. 170,000 Americans dead. Millions of jobs gone,” Obama plans to say. “Our worst impulses unleashed, our proud reputation around the world badly diminished, and our democratic institutions threatened like never before.”

While Trump is trying to stop Americans from voting, Obama is urging the citizens of this country to cast their ballots.
“I am also asking you to believe in your own ability — to embrace your own responsibility as citizens — to make sure that the basic tenets of our democracy endure,” Obama plans to say. “Because that’s what’s at stake right now. Our democracy.”

Oh, boy, I feel a tweetstorm coming. Trump deserves to be called out after refusing to deal with multiple national crises that have left Americans suffering at home, jobless, sick, and grief-stricken for the over one hundred and seventy thousand dead citizens of this country.
