Old Report Resurfaces That Shows Trump Didn’t Appear To Know Who Iran’s Soleimani Was When He Ran For President

This is just insane.

There are still gobs of details surrounding the airstrike near the Baghdad airport that resulted in the death of Iranian Quds Force commander Qasem Soleimani as well as other senior Iranian-linked figures. Quite frankly, many of those are details that the American public will never know as Trump administration will almost assuredly guarantee they will never see the light of day.

Honestly, we have no way of even knowing if Soleimani’s death was intentional or merely collateral damage in a much larger scheme.

What we do know, per confirmation from the Pentagon, is that the airstrike was ordered by Trump himself.

We’ve been well aware for some time that Trump is an extremely un and/or ill-informed excuse for a leader of this nation. Based on even his most recent interactions regarding the region, Donald doesn’t seem to have much, if any understanding of what’s even going on over there.

And now, thanks to a few internet sleuths, it’s painfully apparent that Trump has never had a clue.

In a portion of an interview with conservative talk radio host Hugh Hewitt from back when he was still a presidential candidate, that’s now making its rounds on social media, Trump made it strikingly clear that he didn’t know the Quds Force from a hole in the ground.

In fact, he didn’t seem to even have the slightest clue as to who Qasem Soleimani was.

When questioned regarding foreign leaders by the conservative talk show host, Trump appeared to confuse the Iranian military group, Quds Force for the Kurds, a middle eastern ally, before becoming rather agitated rather quickly, then revealing that he frankly had no idea who they were.

“You’re asking me names that — I think it’s somewhat ridiculous,” Trump replied in the uncovered interview. “As far as the individual players, of course I don’t know them. I’ve never met them. I haven’t been, you know, in a position to meet them.”

Qasem Soleimani has long been considered one of the most influential and revered figures in Iran, just after Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and President Hassan Rouhani. He has been a vocal and staunch opposer of the US but was always spared action against him by previous presidents due to the very real possibility of unknown but almost assuredly catastrophic retaliation.

One that we’re now facing nose to nose thanks to nothing more than Trump’s attempt at reelection.
