We’ve known since he lost the presidential election in an embarrassing landslide that Donald Trump would be flying south like an old, half-dead bird, headed straight to his comfy, beloved Mar-a-Lago Florida resort, where he could golf in peace like the baby boomer piece of garbage he is. However, the people of Mar-a-Lago were not near as keen on this idea as Trump and his family were.

As a matter of fact, the town of Palm Beach has been looking into the legalities of Trump making a permanent residence out of the resort, as they just aren’t big on the idea of the former, disgraced, one-term, twice-impeached president making Mar-a-Lago his permanent home. And now the results are in.

According to a new report from CNN, the town of Palm Beach has finished its legal review and ultimately determined that the original agreement between the town and the resort does not expressly prevent the former President from making Mar-a-Lago his permanent place of residence as a private citizen. Undoubtedly, the determination was likely a disappointment to many a Palm Beach resident.

Town attorney John “Skip” Randolph put together a memo and posted it to the town’s website, advising the town to take a look into their zoning ordinance, which states clearly that only bona fide employees are legally allowed to reside in private clubs. Therefore concluding that if Donald Trump is a “bona fide employee of the club,” zoning laws would allow him to live on the premises.

Randolph went on to recommend that “the town council hear from interested parties, including Trump, and debate the issue further,” according to CNN.

This is the same defense that Trump’s own attorney used in a letter to Randolph ahead of Donald’s move south, arguing that the ex-president is a bona fide employee of the Mar-a-Lago resort, therefore he is “clearly entitled to reside there.”

I can only imagine that this isn’t the end of the road for disgruntled Palm Beachers, though. And, I mean, when has Donald Trump really ever been a “bona fide” anything?
