Recently, one prominent megachurch pastor plunged his whole congregation into some serious turmoil and unrest after he was caught on video footage engaging in an affair with someone who definitely wasn’t his wife — and now, newly leaked audio seems to show that the man is the farthest thing from remorseful for his actions, instead choosing to rage in defense of his nasty actions.
A while back, Chattanooga, Tennessee, Venue Church pastor Tavner Smith was busted on video footage intimately kissing a woman who was not his wife in a restaurant. The initial affair footage prompted at least eight resignations from church staff members. But to make matters that much worse, Smith’s shadiness and affairs didn’t stop there. Shortly following the video footage, a group of church volunteers visited the pastor’s home where they found him and the same woman alone in the house together and in a state of near undress.
“She in a towel, he in his boxers,” the Daily Beast reported. Tavner Smith and his affair partner allegedly told the church volunteers who busted them that they had removed nearly all of their clothing “after getting food on them while making hot dogs and chili.”
New audio files have now been leaked featuring Smith attempting to defend his disgusting actions to the Chattanooga Times Free Press.

Smith can be heard in the newly leaked audio files stating that he’ll answer any questions they may have “then repeatedly said there was information he would not share. Members would feel differently if they knew the ‘whole story,'” the report writes.
Smith goes on to explain, before even issuing an apology for his very un-Christian actions, he and his mistress fully intend to continue their relationship together once they’ve both completed their respective divorces.
“When she’s not married and I’m not married, yeah, we hope to pursue each other,” the Tennessee megachurch pastor says.
“The church was forced to confront the rumors about the alleged affair after a video circulated online in late 2021 showing Smith allegedly kissing the employee at a restaurant in North Georgia,” the Times Press reports.
At the time, Smith claimed that he was “great friends” with the restaurant employee and asserted that he was never “sexually involved” with her. When Smith was later questioned by a church volunteer on the matter, he admitted that he had shared a kiss with the restaurant employee, but never when they were living with their respective spouses. Smith would go on to claim that both he and his affair partner were only married “on paper.”
“I just would like a little bit of a break. I’m not going anywhere. I’m your pastor. I’m going to pastor this church,” Smith reportedly told his churchgoers. “God called me here, and nothing’s changed about that. The vision is not changed. The promise still stands. What God spoke over this place is still going to happen.”
