Pence Appears To Shun Social Distancing Guidelines With Photos He Posted To Twitter

Seriously, dude?

Within the first several days of this coronavirus outbreak, Donald Trump was quick to name someone as his COVID-19 scapegoat for when things inevitably hit the fan, as they’re doing now with the United States coming out at the top of infections in the world and our death count continues to rise.

That scapegoat came in the form of his right-hand man, the very same one who attempted to pray away an AIDS epidemic in his home state of Indiana during his time as governor there, Vice President Mike Pence.

Trump pegged Pence as his coronavirus czar within just a few days of the virus’ arrival in the States and has since leaned on him pretty heavily to help push the guidelines Trump cooks up, that seem to change moment by moment, peddle his narrative and gameplan, and keep the mass panic to a minimum — and in case you hadn’t noticed, he’s not done a grand job at any of the above.

Frankly, Pence is as profoundly ignorant as his boss is when it comes to this ordeal. And it seems he’s just as flippant about those crucial guidelines as Donald is, as well.

Both Trump and Pence spent a good portion of the beginning of this outbreak refusing to follow the handshake and contact guidelines sent out by the CDC. And now that social distancing has become absolutely imperative guideline to follow as the outbreak continues to swell to massive proportions, Pence has taken to his social media account with a handful of photos that prove he’s still not practicing what he’s supposed to be preaching.

Apparently, the VP recently met with some employees of Walmart as the outbreak continues to hammer down on the supply chain. This afternoon, Pence posted a few pictures of those meeting to his Twitter account and not a single one of them portrayed the Vice President practicing the social distancing guidelines that have literally become a matter of life and death:

He is not six feet apart… From anyone. And Twitter users were quick to point it out:

At the risk of sounding overly dramatic, these social distancing guidelines are in place to literally attempt to save lives. And yet one of the leaders of this nation, and the very face of the “task force” meant to combat this deadly virus, is yukking it up in Walmart employees’ faces.

It’s hard not to feel like we’re completely screwed.
